Frequently Asked Questions
Where will my session take place?
I have a beautiful studio at the Sandpoint Business and Events Center that is always an option and is perfect for business headshots, newborn, maternity and pet sessions. Sandpoint and the surrounding area has many gorgeous locations for stunning backdrops so depending on the time of year and type of session you’ve booked, we’ll discuss the many options we have and choose an area that is best suited for your type of session. Let me know if you have a special place in mind, otherwise I have a few secret favorite spots I’m happy to share with you!
What do we do if the weather is bad?
Inclement weather can make for some truly unique and memorable photos—so if you’re game, I’m not scared! That said, if conditions are truly unpleasant or unsafe, and depending on the type of session we have planned, we’ll either roll with it, move to a backup plan (or two), or reschedule for a better day.
How will we receive our photos and can we print our images?
You will receive your images in an online gallery, and if your session is an all-inclusive package, you will have immediate access to download and share your high-resolution digital files. To make it easy for you, you will also have the opportunity to order high-quality products such as prints, wall art, and albums directly from your online gallery. If your session does not include all of your digital images, you can purchase high-resolution digital files along with other print products, wall art, and albums directly from your gallery.
How long will it take to see our gallery and how many photos will I receive?
This all depends on the type of session. For most sessions you’ll receive your preview gallery within 14 business days, with rush options available for an added charge. My wedding couples will receive a sneak peek gallery within 72 hours and their entire wedding gallery will be delivered in approximately 6 weeks. On average a gallery will contain 40 to 60 fully edited images per hour. I believe in quality over quantity so I carefully select and include only the best images from your session.
Is it ok to bring pets or a prop to my session?
This all depends on the type of session. For most sessions you’ll receive your preview gallery within 14 business days, with rush options available for an added charge. What if my pet, child or husband is misbehaving? Can we still do this thing?
Kids will often do more for me than they do for their parents—go figure! I try to keep sessions with kids and pets fun, playful, and active, following their lead. I have a few tricks up my sleeve to grab the attention of bored dogs and toddlers alike. I’ve also found that when I meow to get your dog’s attention, your kids and husband can’t help but smile too. :)
What should we wear?
Depending on if your session is business based, family, couples, or high-school seniors, I’ll send you a guide to give you some ideas on what works best and what to avoid. My #1 suggestion is wearing something that you love and feel confident in, and not to ask your family to wear uncomfortable clothing that doesn’t feel like them.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes! Gift certificates make wonderful gifts for Christmas, Valentines, Mothers Day, and special life events! Contact me to learn more.
What’s your cancellation or refund policy? Can we reschedule if something comes up?
I get it. Life happens! While retainers are non-refundable, with 48 hours notice I’ll happily reschedule your session to the next available date. And I’m always willing to reschedule in case of illness or a family emergency.
